Boston Songwriters Workshop is a professional organization of songwriters and composers helping each other develop in the art, craft, and business of songwriting and composition. Boston Songwriters Workshop is open to songwriters and composers in all styles of music including, but not limited to: rock, pop, country, r&b, adult contemporary, folk, alternative, jazz, new age, world beat, classical, hip hop, and film/video/commercial.

Ongoing Activities: Monthly Meetings offer members the opportunity to have their songs and compositions critiqued by other members. Material in all stages of development from "sketch" to finished production, is presented on tape or live for input on music, lyrics, structure, production, potential markets, etc. Meetings also provide opportunities to network, meet new collaborators, and share information on marketing, booking opportunities, upcoming gigs, relevant magazine articles or books, equipment or technical data, publishing, legal issues, contests, etc.

The Monthly Newsletter provides the other primary communication vehicle among BSW members. In addition to announcing dates, times, and locations of upcoming meetings and events, the Newsletter contains information turned up by members (resources, opportunities, etc.), information about members (gigs, accomplishments, etc.), classifieds, BSW business, etc.

Special Events, including workshops, seminars, showcase performances, and parties are carried out according to the needs, desires, and efforts of the membership.

Organization: The Boston Songwriters Workshop runs entirely on a volunteer basis. Every meeting, project, and event is carried out through the cooperative efforts and decision-making of the membership.
